Join us for an insightful conversation into writing the perfect event submission. How do you get your real wedding published in the area’s top wedding magazine? What are editors looking for when choosing editorial shoots for online publication? How can you write a more effective RFP that wins the client? What do judges look for in award submissions?

 Learn from expert panelists including Michelle Castady Orlando CSEP DMCP, General Manager of 360 Destination Group Chicago; Elle Cashin, Editor-in-Chief of Modern Luxury Weddings Chicago; Ami Price, Editor of Elizabeth Anne Designs / Lakeshore in Love. The conversation will be moderated by Barb Siska CSEP, Executive Director of the Office of University Events and Ceremonies at the University of Chicago.

About our Panelists: 

Barb Siska CSEP, University of Chicago

In her role as Executive Director of the Office of University Events and Ceremonies at the University of Chicago, Barb serves as the lead event planner for all Office of the President, Office of the Provost, and other campus partner events. She manages a team of seven that collectively orchestrates and executes more than 100 University events and conferences each year, including the annual Convocation ceremonies, which welcomes more than 18,000 guests to campus each June. Barb currently serves as the Immediate-Past President for the Chicago Chapter of the International Live Events Association (ILEA), the principle association representing the creative events professional, globally.

 

Michelle Castady Orlando CSEP DMCP, 360 Destination Group Chicago

As a 15-year veteran of the DMC industry and General Manager at 360 Destination Group, Michelle works tirelessly to develop and support strong, collaborative teams of passionate and progressive DMC professionals.  In addition to working alongside the team at 360, Michelle currently serves as Treasurer of the ADMEI Certification and Accreditation Board, Member on the Illinois Meetings + Events Magazine Editorial Advisory Board, and formerly held executive-level positions on both the MPI-CAC and ILEA Chicago Board of Directors. Among many honors, Michelle was recently named to the 40 Under 40 list by Connect Corporate Magazine, a Top 500 Most Influential Event Professional by BizBash Magazine, and DMC Professional of the Year by the Association of Destination Management Executives International.

Elle Cashin, Modern Luxury

As a journalist in Chicago for the past near-decade, Elle has covered all aspects of the luxury lifestyle—from dining to shopping to culture—for publications across the city. Now, as editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Weddings Chicago, she applies that experience to the weddings world, including reviewing hundreds of high-end local weddings for inclusion in every issue. Elle also contributes to other Modern Luxury publications, including CS, Men's Book Chicago and Modern Luxury Weddings books across the nation. 

Ami Price, Elizabeth Anne Designs / Lakeshore in Love

Ami Price is the founder and publisher of Lakeshore in Love and Elizabeth Anne Designs, and the CEO of the wedding industry's largest influencer network, Aisle Society. Aisle Society's submission software, Matchology, powers wedding submissions for more than 40 of the most prominent online wedding publications. Ami is a graduate of Chicago Booth and has published more than 6,000 events in her 12 year career as an editor.
