Who/ what inspired you to go into event planning?
I think I was born an event planner. Growing up I was the party planner for my parents, making their friends buy tickets to my one-woman variety shows (only child life), setting assigned seats at dinner and creating detailed itineraries for every family holiday. I was torn between being a Culinary Arts Major or being a Theater Major in college but once I found the Event Management degree program at Johnson & Wales University, it clicked and I never looked back.
What do you love the most about what you do?
Creating an experience for someone and making them feel that it was effortless (when we all know it is THE MOST effort)

What is your event gone wrong horror story?
Well I like to say that there are no events gone wrong, just events gone differently than planned. That being said, I have had a few scary moments when caring for a guests that falls ill at an event. I have had to preform CPR, call ambulances, clean-up body fluids, call police, perform welfare checks in Hotel rooms and even put out a small (literal) fire.
What made you interested in participating in ILEA?
Connecting with other likeminded event professionals, learning from their creative ideas and networking.
